can I join the Army with an old Rotator Cuff Injury? 10 Points!!!!!!?
About 2 years ago, I threw a large trash bag into the dumpster and hurt my shoulder. I never received medical care, even though it bothered me a lot. Over time, it got a lot better and I have about 98 percent range of movement without pain. It only hurts at the front of my shoulder when I put my arms out front. From 1-10, the pain is a 5. Should I tell the Army about this? Will I be disqualified? Are there any stretches or exercises that can make it stronger? Best answer will receive 10 Points!!!!!! I probably won't make a difference at all ( cause I still have to do push ups) , But I'm female and would like to do truck driving. Just so you guys know....

Rotator Cuff Injury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Yesterday (Wednesday) I was doing yardwork for about 12-13 hours. I was lifting shovels, wheelbarrelling, digging, laying down mulch, and lifting bags of soil. At around 10:30 pm that night, my right shoulder hurt whenever I moved it. I read up and it looks like a rotateor cuff injury. I doubt it is a tear, but I dont know... On Sunday, I have to go tubing at my lakehouse. (Sunday around noon) Do you think it will heal by then. What steps should I take so that I could go tubing on Sunday? It hurts when I lift a basketball and shoot it. I will not go to the doctor.

Wrestling / BJJ - Shoulder injury and rehab?
Well I busted my shoulder today during some sparing. The guy I was rolling with was in my guard and used his weight to pin my left arm down (in a right angle extending from my shoulder, with my forearm pointed up). While trying to resist I felt and heard a few snaps/cracks and felt my shoulder in pain. We stopped soon afterwards. After that I did feel a burning sensation in my shoulder for sometime. It also felt sore and there was sharp pain at certain angles of movement. Regardless, now I am able to rotate my arm straight up without pain. It doesnt hurt at rest either. It only gets painful when I try to move it beyond 90 degrees (to the floor). It is still quite sore though, and internal and external rotations both seem to hurt (but only a little). Seems like a rotary cuff injury, but I dont know exactly what. Since then I've stopped moving the arm much, put my shoulder under cold running water for about 15 minutes, put some pain relief gel on it and taken a NSAID + pain relief medication. I am planning on icing it when I get home in the evening. Any other suggestions? FYI, I've had similar issue a few months back with my right shoulder which is now almost 100 % healed and only has some flexibility issues at the moment. It took about a 1 month of rest and rehab to get it back. Also lastly, I d like to know what more I should do to prevent these kind of injuries. They seem fairly common with me, and I am always scared of injuring my shoulders. I am doing rotary cuff injury prevention exercises atleast once per week post my weight training routine. Anything else I can do to further strengthen my shoulders ?? Just to clarify, it was sortof the setup for an Americana (although I dont know if he was actually setting up for it). He was putting all his weight on bringing my arm down and in resisting that my shoulder gave way. He didnt actually lock it in, so I didnt have time to tap. It was basically a very sudden bunch of cracks and snaps.

Could I have torn a muscle?
For about the past 5/6 days I've been getting pain in my left arm, mainly in my upper arm and some at the top of my shoulder. It started off being quite minor, and I only got it when I tried to lift something. Now the pain is more frequent and quite a bit worse. I now get it when I point my elbow up, when I lift something up and also when I lean on my arm. It's not especially painful actually leaning on it, but pushing off from my arm is quite painful. The pain started off being around a 3/4 out of 10, now it's around a 7. My upper arm also hurts when I lean against something (eg a wall) and is also quite painful to the touch. I can't remember doing anything to injure my arm. What could this be? Could it be a rotator cuff injury (torn muscle)? Thanks in advance, Hannah.

Rotator Cuff Injury? Shoulder Pain... how to fix?
I have had pain in my left shoulder for a little over a week now... on the top, back into the shoulder blade, sometimes down into my elbow, etc. If hold my arms straight above my head the left arm/shoulder starts to feel pressure after a little while and I need to bring it down. If I sit on a chair and let my shoulders hang down completely it feels as if there is a small weight sitting on top of my left shoulder... thus I am constantly resting my left arm on the elbow of my chair/sofa. I still have fairly good range of motion in my arm, but the pain is pretty constant throughout the day. It is somewhat relieved by Ibuprofen and various creams/etc., but never completely and not usually for very long. Everything is pretty tender... if I push on the left shoulder blade area, for example, it is rather painful... yet it feels somewhat nice to do so. I have never experienced a rotator cuff tear/injury, so I don't know if that's what this is. If it is, what should I do to begin healing? Just limit its use as much as possible? Begin stretching? I would go to the doctor, but I am stuck in Japan for a while longer and every time I have visited a doctor around here for other things they have been useless in diagnosing/helping my problems. Thanks. P.S. I am a 26-year-old guy, 5'11", 165.
