Treatment for his injured shoulder involves him coming home with HUGE bruises???
My partner has just started getting physio for a shoulder injury (most likely a damaged rotator cuff).
He went to his first session yesterday, where two little Chinese men pulled and pushed him everywhere, then attached big round suction caps in 6 places on his shoulder area. My partner was told that these were to "draw out the toxins". The men pulled them off him extremely forcefully, one at a time.
He's come home with six huge and very darkly coloured bruises from the these suction caps and I'm worried. My partner insists that the bruises are the "toxins" coming out of the skin (as the two little men told him) but they look pretty nasty to me, and he was quite tender on the bruises this morning. I have taken some photos of them just in case.
Does anyone know if this is a normal and acceptable way to treat a shoulder injury? Should these guys be "drawing out the toxins" with giant suction caps? Am I overreacting? The bruises are very, very nasty.

The thing is that he IS seeing 'proper' physios in a medical centre. I'd assume that they have to be qualified to work there. That's why I'm so worried, sounds totally wrong what they're doing but they must be certified physicians, right?
It's just very strange.

possible shoulder damage?
i partially dislocated my left shoulder 3 times in 4 months 4 years ago , and it has never been the same , random pain and not as flexible , i was wondering what kind of injuries could have resulted from what happened ? tendon damage , rotator cuff damage ?

There are so many pro-American conservatives that join the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Core, and hardly any liberals. People always say "Hey why dont you join the war then?" Well i was in the war! I served in Panama and was mentally wounded when i jumped on to a grenade that didn't explode. I saw my life pass before my eyes, everything. My life, my freedom, America, my friends, and my beautiful wife Tina. We lost a lot of good men in Panama. We will never forget. Now i suffer from PSTD and a damages rotator cuff from the impact. I am currently stationed at home with my wife Tina Friesno. I don't currently work, besides my lawnmower repair shop in my garage.

Why is everyone convinced that Brett Favre is the key to a Minnesota Super Bowl run?
I mean, let's be real. You're gonna tell me that a 40 year-old whose coming off bicep surgery and has a damaged rotator cuff is better than Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels or this list of QB's Minnesota could have acquired over the last couple of months (Cutler, Orton, Garcia, Leftwich, dare I say Culpepper, or even drafting Sanchez or Freeman).

I am in a wheelchair for 18 months now, permanent, about 60 lbs overweight now, need to lose weight.?
I can't really move my legs, certainly not to exercise. I have damaged rotator cuffs so that I can't use my shoulders or arms to exercise either. About the only thing doing well is my spirits! I'm determined to get back to a good weight, about 160 lbs as I am 5'6". I've given up alcohol, refined sugar, and drink little milk or soda, only ginger ale occasionally for an upset stomach. My diet is healthy, lots of plain potatoes, plain rice, probably not enough veggies, chicken, and eggs. No fatty food or junk food or fast food. I'm not losing an ounce. What should I do? Please don't mention any of the untested diet pills out there, as I just don't feel safe taking them. (No xenadrine, Hydroxycut etc. Thanks!
