Whats wrong with my shoulder?
Several years ago i was lifting weights. I was trying to show off to a group of girls that wasn't paying attention to me anyway lol. I was lifting too much when my right arm gave out. There was no pain or popping, tearing nothing. The next day i couldn't move my arm. Now everytime i move my arm my shoulder pops 3-4 times. I can't put my arm behind my back or reach across to touch my other shoulder. My uncle thinks i might have torn my rotator cuff.
I also can't afford to go to the doctor for it. I'm still paying for the last time i went.

Rotator cuff tear??????
Okay so I went to the physical therapist today to ask about a pain in my shoulder/higher arm that has been going on in a while. She said that I either have some sort of strain or a tear in my rotator cuff. My dad said, however, that the pain tears cause is usually unbearable and very extreme. My pain isn't quite that extreme, but it's still pretty bad. Could I still have the tear?

Surgery or Cortisone injections?
I have had pain (severe at times) in my shoulder for 3 years now. It kept getting diagnosed as Frozen shoulder, and I worked for along time with a physical therapist, had many pain meds including prednisone, norco, vicodin, oxycodone, and NSAIDS, which I have developed an allergy too. I have tried bayer back and body, tylenol and icy hot, patches. I finally got insurance and had an MRI it seems i have a tear of the rotator cuff, and "bruising in the bone marrow" of the shoulder. I saw an ortho with results in hand and she RUDELY said I needed cortisone shots. HELL no..... Is it too much to expect the doctor to want to FIX it and not keep just giving these shots which btw are painful and do NOTHING!!! I am pretty steamed. I am going to get a second opinion. I just barely jerk it the "wrong" way and its all together the worst pain I have ever had with the exception of childbirth. Should I demand a scope to fix it or go along with shots if he says the same thing she did. My primary md thinks she is too lazy to do the surgery.

My arm reallllly hurts?
Okay so I started physical therapy because they suspect that my rotator cuff is inflamed/strained. However, since I started the exercises are only making me hurt more and it seems like the pain is spreading further throughout my arm. So, what are the possibilities?

Severe should pain, no trigger.... (RN's please?)?
My SAMPLE history...
S - Severe pain just above my right tricep, spreading deep into my rotator cuff. 7 out of 10
A - None
M - 500mg APAP, 500mg Asprin (QD)
P - Minor case of Type 2 Diabetes, well under control as we speak.
L - Not relevant
E - Sitting down, watching TV. Noticed a cramp in my arm. It has gotten worse (18 hours later) and nothing has began to touch the pain. It feels like a really damn tight cramp, rather deep in the tissue, and it hurts a lottttt (easily 7/10).
I'm trying to figure out what caused this. I'm too young for arthritis and all that jazz, and I haven't done any heavy lifting for over a month. I'd say that most of my work is done on the computer and I probably spend too much time on it, so my best guess is it's just stress from my arms staying at the same level for long periods of time (typing).
Any RN's, MD's etc out there that can help point me in the right direction?
Thanks guys.
Aggie - Yeah, it's the same for me too. I can't diagnose anyone/anything either (as an EMT), but I can say that "I think you might have _______ but to be honest, I don't know. I think you need to _____.". I get what you're saying.
I'm just trying to get an idea of what's going on. I've never had a patient with a chief complaint of this, so I have no idea what the problem is. To be honest, I'm putting off a doctor visit until I KNOW I need to go.
