Shoulder pain after heart operation.....?
My dad had a heart operation nearly 2 weeks ago and now he's complaining of a painful shoulder/s, i overheard my grandma telling my mum to take him to hospital if it gets worse because she had the same pain and it turned out to be a blood clot. Just want to know how likely it is that the pain is a clot and what other things it could be?

recent study saying codeine is not suitable for breastfeeding Mums?
OK, so I was given codeine after my c-section 6 months ago (and also oral morphine I think) Apparently (some websites) now refer to a study saying it is not suitable for breastfeeding mums.
I have an incredibly painful shoulder/back right now and have some codeine (cocodamol 30/500 tabs) in the house.
Some people say it depends on the age of your child and the strength of the tablets.
So my question is, would short term, limited (bare minimum to get by) use of co-codamol 30/500 be safe while breastfeeding a 6 month old?
Also I have heard that Diclofenac (an anti inflammatory NSAID) is safe while b'feeding but can't find any studies to back this up - does anybody know if this is OK as the combination of these two drugs is what I have previoulsy been prescribed for a similar shoulder problem.

pulled a muscle or trapped a nerve in my neck.?
Last Wednesday I pulled a muscle or trapped a nerve in my neck.
The immediate injury has slightly subside, but painful shoulders and arms and sometimes back persists.
I am taking co-codamol everytime they wear off just to cope with the pain.
I have not been to see my doctor as I thought it would release or mend quite quickly.
As it is I am not improving much. Would you suggest I go and see a Chiropractor for some relief. I can now move my head just about but with some pain.
Any advice would be good

painful shoulder blade muscle - affecting my swallowing?
I seem to have sprained or torn the muscle across my left shoulder blade. I cannot pick anything up with my left arm, although I can lift that arm above my head. I also cannot move the left shoulder backwards and I cant put my left arm on my hip without pain.
Also when I swallow anything, the muscles across my front left are also very painful. It hurts to swallow or drink anything. Its like my esophagus is bruised.
I went to the walk-in clinic today and saw a doctor, He did not beleive me when I said that it hurt to swallow. He prescribed tylenol with codeine, but that doesnt work. I still get breakthrough pain.
The only thing that does help the pain is the DEEP COLD spray which has been sprayed across the back of my left shoulder. But my esophagus still hurts when I swallow.
Should I be concerned?

Painful shoulder to eblow... i have a sharp pain from my shoulder to my elbow, all down my arm.?
My arm all of a sudden got this sharp pain from my shoulder to my elbow. I did nothing to aggravate it, it just started being sore for no reason. i cant move my arm up or forward only backwards. it started last night i have not lifted anything or hit anything so not sure the cause or what it could be... any ideas on what it is and how to fix it... it is extremely painful!

Did i take too many pain-relievers today?
Hello, im having really painful shoulder problems
and today i took:
-2 bufferin
-1 ibuprofen
-2 advil
is that too much to take in a day?
(im an 18 yr old small girl)

muscle and there is inflammation
so i have to swear a sling so i dont
swing my arm too much

what am I suffering from? Painful shoulder and forearm?
I felt this pain on my left shoulder and on my right forearm last night. Other time (about 4 months ago), the pain was on both of my shoulders. The pain comes and goes every second. Usually I feel this pain in the middle of the night when I'm asleep and the pain would wake me up. It's so painful that I could cry. There is no body position to ease the pain, so usually I would just sit on my bed feeling hopeless.
Before last night, it happened 4 months ago, it was after I consumed a lot of lamb sate (traditional Indonesian food) and ate a lot of durian. But last night, I didn't eat anything unusual like before. (had chicken and rice for dinner). So perhaps, the lamb sate and durian were not the cause. Last time I went to a clinic, the doctor said that I had a muscle pain and gave me some pills to relax the muscle. Is this true?
I'm 34 year old male, last blood checkup was 4 mth ago and my trilyceride was 335, Cholesterol = 201, LDL Cholesterol Direct = 127.
Do the pain have anything to do with cholesterol or high Trilyceride?
The pain comes and goes every second = Throbbing pain.
I would say the pain is below the shoulder, just above my chest, nearer to the shoulder. But it's absolutely, not chest.
