Pediatric Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery?
I am having arthroscopic shoulder surgery on December 22nd due to a tear in the labrum from dislocations. I have popped my shoulder out once at tumbling, once at cheerleading and another time just reaching for something. The doctor told me my labrum was torn and I would need some "sewing" done on it to get my stability back. I am almost 16, and I know they sometimes take extra precautions with pediatric patients. The doctor said she would probably give me a nerve block injection in the neck before surgery. However, I am concerned about my pain. First of all, does the neck injection hurt? Will I wake up in pain? How long will I have to deal with recovery pain? Any pediatric patients' input would be greatly appreciated!

I am a GIRL! I want to wrestle for my high school...?
Okay so. I'm a sophomore.
I attend high school with my older brother whom is a senior.
My brother is very athletic and he was undefeated in his weighclass. He won the state championship title 2 years ago.
Last year he wrestled, until the very second match of the season, the boy he wrestled tore up his shoulder (he tested positive for steroids later.)
It was so ridiculous. My brother was out for the entire season, and had multiple shoulder surgeries, costing my family some big bucks.
The wrestling season for 2011, My brother isn't wrestling at all. He doesnt want to, and my parents don't want him too.
This hurts me so bad. I loved watching him wrestle. HE WAS SO GOOD!!!!!
The wrestling coach is pretty pissed. He threatened to quit coaching. But if the coach quit, the team would have nothing.
I wanted to remain a part of the wrestling team, so I WAS the manager for this year.
I resigned from managing position, because there was like 5 competition cheerleaders fighting for the managing spot as well. IT'S A ONE PERSON JOB!

I'm freaking upset about all this.
I freaking love the wrestling sport. I love it so much. I am so freaking pissed my brother isn't doing this. It's for the sake of his stupid shoulder.
I've been thinking deeply, I think I want to wrestle.
But should I be embarassed? I don't want people to think I'm doing this sport so I can have guy's bodies all over me, which I find quite discusting to be honest ): These boys are not attractive.
If I'm going to do something, I want to be good at ut, and I'm afraid if I join the wrestling team, I won't be very successful because males are naturally stronger than women.
But I really actually want to do this. Thus the coach has even asked me. hahaha (:
How do I start? I am not going to join this season.
I am unprepared. I would also have to drop some pounds to be in a good weight class for my strength.
I am 5'7'' and 160lbs. I am athletic like my brothers, however I also eat as much as them haha.
I'm talkin' like 3,000 calories a day ridiculous.
I would probably want to get down to 145 which shouldn't be a problem at all.
I would need to gain incredible strength.
How do I even begin this wrestling journey?

Recruiter giving me choice of MOS before my medical clearance was granted?
I had a shoulder surgery for my labrum back in 2010 and we had to send in my documents to get cleared to go take my MEPS. A few days after sending them in we went down and took my ASVAB, so by this time i was thinking that my clearance to take the meps and join had all gone through. 2 weeks later (this past wednesday) my recruiter let me reserve my MOS (US Army Infantry w/ Airborne School) and told me we were going to go get my physicals done this coming wednesday. He called me yesterday (Friday) telling me that he still hadn't gotten a clearance for me to take my physicals and he resent them this past wednesday and they would not be cleared by the time we scheduled me to take my physicals, from what he told me he knew that they had not gone through and did not bother to send them back in with 2.5 weeks where he could have done so. This puts me past my 7 day reservation period for the MOS i chose, and I want to tryout for the Rangers so Airborne school is a must have.
Is there any way to get an extension on my MOS reservation? This is what I have wanted to get, and I feel as though there should be a way to get an extension for my reservation. Does anyone know anything about this? I would greatly appreciate it.

Should I apply for a job, even though I have a shoulder brace on.?
So I just got shoulder surgery and so now I have a brace on. I had to quit my other job, so now I need to make some more money and get a job else where. Im 16 years old so it would be to somewhere like a frozen yogurt place or toys r us or target or some place like that. Think Id be fine if I interviewed in a sling? Please help me out. How can i hang out with my boy friend when my parents compleatly hate him!?
Ok so i live in a very small country town in CT and im 14 and my bf of 1 year is 15. he is black and is a sophmore while im in eigth grade. i know it seems young but i am very mature and me and him have discused about the sexual stuff and know im not doing it now. so my parents were ok bout him in the beginin but when they found out he did weed they freaked (i understand why) but he has quit so he can be with me but we havent been able to see eachother i about 3 mounths and he is getin a shoulder surgery soon and i need to see him! the town we live in is small population bout its all country so there isnt any central part of the town :/ and on top of that its goin to be dark at like 4:30 soon plz tell me what i can do!

Pain from past surgeries?
I have had 3 shoulder surgeries, on the same shoulder, over the last 7 years. The last of these surgeries was a very invasive procedure in which a piece of bone from my scapula was fused in front of my shoulder socket to prevent future dislocations. This surgery worked perfectly and allowed me to finish my college wrestling career. I have finished my competitive career, however, I still maintain a very active lifestyle. When I lift weights, or when I run considerable distances, I have trouble sleeping at night because my shoulder aches constantly. How do I go about getting a prescription for the pain, to help me sleep. My fear is that I will go to a doctor, waste money on a copay, but be met with unwillingness to prescribe anything.
